Jane Austen challenge

Hi there,

Once again the bears over at The House of Bears are hosting another fab literary based challenge.

This month they have chosen Jane Austen and a selection of quotes to use for inspiration




I chose the quote 'I cannot be dictated to by a watch' as lately I've been feeling pretty overwhelmed with finding time for everything I want to do! Maybe I have too many hobbies :)

House of Bears

Once again the fab bears over at The house of Bears are hosting a book related challenge.

This time it's Jane Eyre.

I chose a quote '"I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will".

I created my page using a previously made gelli print and then layering items on top. The stamp is a sweet pea stamp by Anna Marie.

Upon completing my page and going to add the quote I realised I hadn't left enough space for the whole quote!!

I hate ordinary people

The fab bears over at The house of bears are once again hosting a book based challenge.

I already have one entry for this fab challenge click here. However with so many great quotes I decided to make a second entry.




My chosen quote this time was 'I hate ordinary people'

The background was made using gelli plate and Dylusions 'mop ups'. I added chicken wire for a grungy look and the glued my images on top.

House of bears challenge

The fab bears over at The house of bears are once again hosting a book based challenge.

This month they selected some quotes from little women. My chosen quote from the list was 'I am angry nearly every day of my life' here is my entry



With a quote like that I immediately thought of the Hulk but with no images I asked my wonderful husband to help copy an image from the Internet.

With so many great quotes and enough time I may well have another play at one of the other ones :)

A few layouts

Here are a few layouts I have done recently

This one I flicked paint onto my page (and all over the room) and then layered up the papers until I was happy to stick.



The below I took inspiration from this layout found on Pinterest. I used up-cycled cross stitch aida and had great fun with this one.


This one is of one of my favourite hotels in Las Vegas, lots of texture and layers on this one.

A thousand splendid suns.

Well the wonderful bears of at the house of bears have set another literary challenge. Details can be found here.

This months challenge was based on A Thousand Splendid Suns. Now I have never read this book but after searching for quotes I found a lovely one that reads 'I will follow you to the ends of the world'

So with this quote in mind here is my page




Here is a close up of my gorgeous new Prima doll with added wings so she can follow her love around the world.

This girl is on fire

It's that time of month again and time to see my entry to the house of Bears challenge. Each challenge is based on books and this months theme was to take the inspiration from a book about love.

I decided to go very literal with my interpretation of the Hunger games trilogy.

Katniss is the girl on fire throughout the three books. I believe she is the girl on fire as she does everything she can to protect the ones she loves in all three books.

Here is my entry.



I think this still needs a little work but here is my picture for now :)

Adventure

This months challenge at the house of bears blog was to take inspiration from time travel books to create a work of art.

I chose the listed Time Travellers Wife as my inspiration for this page.



Knowing that Clare waits her whole life for Henry to appear / disappear to me seems so romantic. She loves Henry dearly from a young age as a friend and this blossoms into love as she meets the various versions of Henry through his life as a time traveller.

My page is about my husband, we have recently moved our whole lives so he can follow his dream. The writing reads 'Where ever the adventure takes you.... Know that I will always be there waiting.' Just as Clare waited for Henry to appear, I will wait and follow my husband on his great adventure.

Really missing crafting already

All kinds of crafting is a great stress relief for me. I love nothing better than coming home from work or chilling at the weekends with inky, painty hands!

Unfortunately all my crafty stuff is currently in boxes due to a move in a few weeks time, I am itching to play....

I may have to be naughty and unpack :)
